Consulates, ports and hospitals: every part of Jeddah has its paperwork

Jeddah brings together institutions on a scale no other Saudi city matches. Dozens of countries run consulates general here. Jeddah Islamic Port handles a large share of the Kingdom’s trade, and King Abdulaziz International Airport is the gateway for pilgrims. The city’s specialist hospitals receive patients from across the western region, and universities such as King Abdulaziz University and the University of Jeddah draw students from everywhere. The result is a wider mix of translation requests than anywhere else:

  • A resident renewing a passport or registering a newborn at their consulate in Jeddah, who needs a translated birth certificate or marriage contract.
  • A Saudi citizen applying for a study, tourist or medical visa, who needs bank statements, an employment letter and certificates in English.
  • A patient continuing treatment abroad, or an insurer asking for a translated medical report.
  • A trader or importer working with a foreign supplier, who needs a commercial registration, contracts or trade documents translated.
  • Hajj and Umrah service companies contracting with agents overseas, who need bilingual agreements.
  • A graduate heading abroad or applying for equivalency, who needs a degree and transcript translated.

What actually makes a translation “certified”?

When an official body asks for a “certified translation”, it usually means three things. The translation comes from a licensed translation office, it carries that office’s stamp and signature, and it is faithful to the original, with nothing left out and nothing added. We meet all three on every job, and we add a step you won’t find at every office:

A second review. Once the first translator finishes, a second translator reads the full text against the original, checking names, numbers, dates and terminology. One wrong letter in a name, or a Hijri date converted incorrectly, can cost you a consulate appointment you waited weeks for.

Confidentiality. Medical reports, contracts and bank data are sensitive, so we offer a non-disclosure agreement to any client who asks.

Our name is on the translator lists held by the British and U.S. embassies in Riyadh. Even so, every consulate and authority has its own rules, and acceptance is decided by the receiving authority. Some require additional legalisation, and some use their own list of translators. We always recommend checking the receiving authority’s requirements before you order, and we are glad to help you do that.

Order from home or visit the branch: both work

On WhatsApp (24/7):

  1. Send a clear photo or PDF of your document to +966 56 944 2222.
  2. We reply with the price and a confirmed delivery time.
  3. Once you approve, we translate, review and certify.
  4. Every order includes a stamped electronic copy on WhatsApp, plus the printed copy: delivered within Jeddah or picked up at Al Basatin.

At the branch: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 to 16:00. The branch is closed on Friday and Saturday, but WhatsApp takes orders every day.

Turnaround: one hour for iqamas, national IDs, driving licences and passport data pages. Anything else marked urgent is ready that day or by the time stated in your quote, with a surcharge for rush work.

When to visit, and when WhatsApp is enough

  • WhatsApp is enough if the authority accepts the stamped electronic copy, if you need the translation quickly outside office hours, or if you live outside Jeddah.
  • Visiting is better if the authority insists on a stamped paper copy, if your document has many pages with stamps and signatures that are hard to photograph clearly, or if you’d simply rather explain your file face to face.

Either way, you get the same standard: translation, second review, stamp and signature.

Our Jeddah branch address

Office 8, 3rd Floor, 8153 Prince Sultan Rd, 5152 Al Basatin, Jeddah 23717

The branch sits on Prince Sultan Road in north Jeddah, one of the main roads linking the northern districts to the city centre.
