Birth & Marriage Certificate Translation
Every day, children of many nationalities are born in Jeddah’s hospitals, residents marry and need to record the marriage at home, and whole families move abroad to study or work. At each of these points someone asks for birth certificate translation, a marriage contract or a family record. At Almadani Translation’s Jeddah branch we translate civil-status documents as certified, stamped and signed translations, keep family name spellings consistent across every document, and have a second translator review them before stamping.

Common situations in Jeddah
A newborn in a resident family
Once the birth notification or Saudi birth certificate is issued in Arabic, many consulates in Jeddah ask for a translation to register the child and issue a passport. This is where spelling differences cause trouble: the father’s name on the birth certificate must match his passport letter for letter.
Recording a marriage that took place in the Kingdom
A marriage contract issued by a Saudi authority needs translating to register it in the couple’s home country or to submit it with a residence or family visa file.
A marriage abroad, submitted in Jeddah
A foreign marriage certificate needs an Arabic translation for a Saudi authority, for example to add a spouse to a residence file or for a procedure before the Personal Status Court.
A family file for travel
A Saudi or resident family moving abroad for a scholarship or work needs the children’s birth certificates, the marriage contract and the family record translated together.
Divorce, custody and maintenance
Divorce deeds and custody or maintenance judgments, for use in another country or to complete a consular procedure.

How we keep a family’s documents consistent
Each person’s passport is the reference
We ask for the passport data pages of the father, mother and children, and write every name as spelled in that person’s passport. If the newborn has no passport yet, we follow the family name as spelled in the father’s passport, or the spelling you choose.
Compound names and family names
A four-part name in Saudi documents may be shortened to two names in a foreign passport. We translate the name as it appears in the document and add a note if the authority needs it linked to the passport name.
Places and authorities
The hospital, city of birth and issuing authority are written by their official names, using the hospital’s established English name where it has one.
Dates and stamps
Birth and marriage dates appear as in the original, Hijri, Gregorian or both, with stamps, signatures and codes noted.
Before translation: attestation
Some consulates require the birth certificate or marriage contract to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before or after translation; others require attestation by the consulate itself. Check the consulate’s website, and if attestation comes first, send us the attested document.
